Studies in Art History

This course will explore major works of world art and architecture both from a purely formal perspective as well as within the particular cultural contexts that produced them. Two broad periods of art history will be explored in alternating rotation: Classical Art and Archaeology through the Romanesque, and Western Art and Architecture from the Gothic through Modernism.
