FCOI – Financial Conflicts of Interest
Wheeling University maintains a Financial Conflicts of Interest (FCOI) policy which governs the disclosure of individual Significant Financial Interests (SFI) and the management and reporting of any Financial Conflict of Interest in sponsored research performed at the University. This policy is intended to comply with federal regulations implemented by the Public Health Service (PHS), specifically the National Institutes of Health (NIH). This policy promotes objectivity in research by establishing procedures to identify and address actual and apparent financial conflicts of interest. The WU FCOI program consists of three main tasks that funded researchers must satisfy:
- Read the WU Financial Conflicts of Interest policy.
- Successfully complete the NIH FCOI Tutorial.
- Annually submit the WU Significant Financial Interests Disclosure Form.
